Noelle Conn

Noelle Conn – Chinese name of Wong Siu Kuen 黃少娟 – is a martial arts master, scholar, author, yoga teacher, ceramics artist, chef, and most importantly, a mom. She was born in Hong Kong in 1966 of Hakka 客家 clan heritage.

Noelle began her martial arts training in 1971. She was brought up in Northern stream Kung Fu 功夫 with her career being firmly grounded in a formal 20 year apprenticeship with Master Kwan Yuen Cheong 關潤昌.

Maan Mut Ji Do 萬物之道

Noelle is an key figure in the preservation of Maan Mut Ji Do 萬物之道. She is a 7th generation master in the Jin Si Sum 戦士心 lineage, and the only woman to ever be taught the entire system.

Noelle’s knowledge of the art is of particular importance as she is a petite woman constantly dealing with very large opponents. Many can speculate on such difficulties but Noelle will tell you that “size matters – so learn the correct way to handle it.”

Historical Research

Noelle is a pioneer of multi discipline, multi lingual research, of Chinese martial arts and the relevant history. Since 1987, Noelle and her fellow researchers have been working with rare historical manuscripts, archeological findings, and much more.

Child Development

Over the course of her 50 year career, Noelle has been applying her kung fu 功夫 knowledge and experience to the development of children through special Chinese martial arts training. She has moved kids classes away from the tedious slog of the past and turned them into a fun and rewarding activity that really changes lives.

When Tigers Kill

Noelle starred in the 2001 movie “When Tigers Kill”. The production was filmed on location in the 5 countries of Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and South Africa. It was the first multi cultural digital format movie of its kind.

The film follows an unfortunate orphan girl and her brother who had become young assassins in order to eke out a living. In a strange incident, the siblings find out they are on opposite sides of a conflict. As the film progresses, one discovers that is not clear who is the hunter, and who is the hunted.
